Late last night the NSW Government made law the guidelines stated by the Federal government on Sunday night. This has been a cycle of ever tightening restrictions on gatherings and businesses for the past few weeks as numbers of infected people increase at an alarming rate.
Under the Public Health Act of 2010, a new set of Public Health (COVID-19 Restrictions on Gathering and Movement) Order 2020 was made. Read about these new laws on the NSW Government COVID-19 page.
As a consequence of this new set of regulations, which specifically includes museums and historic properties, we ask that you do not visit the Great North Road historic sites.
Other restrictions also impact on any plans to visit GNR sites. These locations are not exempt sites from travel restrictions. People should not leave home without a reasonable excuse. Being popular sites to visit there is also the high likelihood of finding yourself in a banned public gathering of three or more people.
Penalties for breaking these rules for an individual are a maximum penalty of $11,000, or imprisonment for 6 months, or both. Obey the laws, protect yourself and other innocent victims of any potential spread of the SARS-CoV-2 virus.
